A little help

Talk to us
For help, feedback or an accessibility problem, email contact@tellyprompter.com. Tell us you are using Ear Prompter for iPhone or iPad, what you expected, and what happened.
For a technical problem, open Settings → About → Report a problem in Ear Prompter. You can review the details before sending. The diagnostic attachment includes app and device versions, the audio route, and recent error codes and timings. It does not attach your scripts, voice or video.
If Mail is not set up, choose Share report and send the file to the same address using your preferred mail app. Include your headphone and microphone models for an audio problem. A short description is enough to start; you do not need to send a private script or recording.
Make your first read
- In Scripts, use the plus button to write or paste a script.
- Open the script and choose Make my read, then Start read. Read it aloud in your own voice.
- Listen back, then choose Keep this read.
- Connect your headphones and continue to your take. Your saved read plays in your ear as you perform.
To see the introduction again, open Settings → First use → Show the set-up card again. If you change the script afterwards, make a new read to match the new words.
Check what you hear
If your read is quiet or playing in the wrong ear, check the device volume and Settings → In your ear in Ear Prompter. Choose Left, Both or Right and adjust the level.
For Bluetooth headphones, Settings → Audio → Bluetooth at full quality (phone microphone) changes the microphone as well as playback quality. When it is on, the phone microphone records you, so keep the phone out of your pocket. When it is off, the headset microphone records at call quality.
Connect your equipment before starting and try a short read and take with that setup. If the problem continues, send a report with the exact equipment and what you heard.
Microphone, camera and language
Check Settings → Permissions in Ear Prompter. If microphone or camera access was denied, Open Settings takes you to the app’s iOS settings to change it. Camera access is needed for video takes.
Choose your reading language under Settings → Reading → Language. Speech recognition runs on the device. If its language pack is missing, the app asks before downloading it from Apple.
Video takes stop when the app leaves the screen. For a take with the screen off, turn the camera off first.
Find and keep your work
Your reads and takes are stored in the app on the device where you made them. Open Takes, select a take, then use Share or Save to Files. Video takes also offer Save to Photos. Export availability depends on your plan and the take; the app shows Pro options when an export is locked.
Pro account sync covers scripts, not read audio or take recordings. Signing in on another device does not bring those recordings across. In Settings → Account, Pro users can check the script count and choose Sync now.
Save important takes somewhere you control before removing the app or changing devices. Device backups are separate from Ear Prompter account sync; we cannot promise that a recording can be recovered. See Privacy for how storage and sharing work.
Purchases and subscriptions
For an App Store purchase that is not showing, open Settings → Account → Pro in Ear Prompter and choose Restore purchases. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase. If access still looks wrong, contact us with the message shown; never send a password or sign-in code.
To cancel an Apple subscription, open the iPhone or iPad Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions and Ear Prompter. Apple’s cancellation guide has the full steps.
Apple handles App Store refund decisions. Follow Apple’s refund instructions to make a request. Deleting your Ear Prompter account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Your account and privacy
To delete your account, open Settings → Account → Delete account in Ear Prompter and read the confirmation. This removes the account and the content stored in it. Scripts, reads and takes already on this device remain until you remove them separately.
For a privacy request, or if you cannot access your account, email contact@tellyprompter.com. Our Privacy page explains the app and this website; our Terms cover use of the service.
